Nordic Design Impact Conference

Nordic Design Impact (NDI) develops competences of small and medium-sized design businesses. NDI creates knowledge and results for Nordic growth via knowledge sharing, development and innovation. At the conference Nordic experts and the project partners from organizations, companies, universities share their experience in the project framework with the Nordic design community at large.

The conference is free and open for everybody.

10.00 – 10.15 Welcome – the project Nordic Design Impact Dorrit Bøilerehauge, NDI project lead
 
10.15 – 11.00 Keynote speaker Astrid Skjerven, Superbrand for Sustainability, The lecture will explore why and how the concept of Nordic design is a key tool for the innovation and branding of sustainable products in an era of globalization and virtuality. The lecture will explore the DNA of Nordic design not only as a proud history, but also as a modern tool. Professor Astrid Skjerven is a specialist in the field. Since her PhD thesis Goodwill for Scandinavian Design she has done extensive research on its international significance. She is also a widely used lecturer. She is a member of the EU COST Action for cultural sustainability
 
11.00 – 11.20 Satu Miettinen, Aesthetics in Service design through Time, Motion and Physicality, discusses the notion of service design in the era of strong digitalization and development of online services. Further, the presentation creates an understanding of its context and different aspects of service design through the perspectives of aesthetic research. Satu Miettinen works as a professor at the University of Lapland. She has been working with service design research for several years and authored number of books and research publications in this area. Her research is in social and public service development and digital service development. She holds both national and international expert positions in these areas

Transportation

The conference venue is most easily reached by taking the Öresundstog / regional train from Copenhagen Central Station in the direction of Malmö / Copenhagen Airport or from Copenhagen Airport in the direction of Copenhagen. The station is called ÖRESTAD and is two stops away from the airport and one stop away from Copenhagen Central Station.

When leaving ÖRESTAD STATION, take a right and you will have the shopping center Fields on your left hand side. At the first left– Arne Jacobsen Allé, cross the street and you will find the venue on your right hand side.
